IR quartz cuvettes are essential components in modern laboratory analysis and research, allowing for precise spectral measurements in infrared light. These cuvettes are made of high-quality polished quartz, which is highly transparent in the near-infrared (NIR) region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The IR quartz cuvettes offer high accuracy, reliability, and durability, which are crucial for chemical and biological analysis applications.

Here are some of the key features of IR quartz cuvettes that make them stand out from other types of cuvettes:

  1. Transparency – IR quartz cuvettes exhibit high transparency in the near-infrared region, with minimal absorption or scattering of the light. This feature ensures that the cuvette does not interfere with the spectral measurements and provides accurate and reliable results.
  2. Chemical Resistance – The IR quartz cuvettes are highly resistant to chemical attack from harsh substances, such as acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. This allows for a wide range of chemical and biological analyses to be conducted using the same cuvette, without the worry of chemical degradation.
  3. Design Flexibility – IR quartz cuvettes come in a range of designs and sizes, enabling the user to select the most suitable cuvette for their particular application. For example, the cuvette designs may include flow-through cuvettes, semi-micro cuvettes, and macro cuvettes, among others.
  4. High Temperature Tolerance – The IR quartz cuvettes exhibit high temperature tolerance, making them suitable for use in high-temperature reactions and analyses. This feature ensures that the cuvettes can withstand harsh conditions, ensuring that the spectral measurements remain accurate and precise.
  5. Easy to Clean – The IR quartz cuvettes are easy to clean and maintain, which is essential for maintaining consistent spectral measurements. This feature also ensures the cuvette is durable and can withstand frequent cleaning without being damaged.
  6. Compatibility – IR quartz cuvettes are compatible with a wide range of spectrophotometers from different manufacturers, making them a versatile option for labs with multiple instruments.

In summary, IR quartz cuvettes are essential laboratory equipment that offers high accuracy, reliability, and durability, allowing for precise spectral measurements in infrared light. They are highly transparent, chemically resistant, and exhibit high-temperature tolerance, making them an ideal choice for a wide range of chemical and biological analysis applications. The design flexibility and compatibility of IR quartz cuvettes also ensure that they can be used in a variety of spectrophotometers, making them a versatile option for labs with multiple instruments.

UV Quartz Glass Cuvettes

Most of our quartz cuvettes are made from ES quartz material, absorption onset occurs below 190 nm and there are no absorption bands situated between 190 nm and 250 nm. Exceptionally high transmittance across the UVB, UVA, visible spectrum, and near IR. The transmission spectra for our UV quartz cells can be seen below. When working in the IR spectra, especially for wavelengths greater than 2000 nm, we recommend IR Quartz Glass Cuvettes instead, as they offer high transmission for these wavelengths.

IR Quartz Glass Cuvettes

Made from IR quartz material, absorption onset occurs below 260 nm with exceptionally high transmission across UVB, UVA, visible, near IR, and notably short IR. Transmission drops significantly in the mid-IR, and at 4200 nm there is complete absorption.

Why Aireka Scientific Cuvettes and Cells?

Aireka Scientific Co Limited is world-renowned as the producer of premium quartz cuvettes. Over twenty years of experience manufacturing quartz cuvettes ensures that every cuvette is manufactured to the most exacting standards for reproducible results.

  • Spectrophotometry cuvettes - Most spectrophotometry applications in the visible and UV ranges benefit from Aireka Scientific spectrophotometry cuvettes. Our cuvettes made of ES quartz material deliver precise and reliable readings even at wavelengths as low as 190 nm. The stock cuvettes are compatible with most spectrophotometers and photometers with standard 0.2 - 100 mm path lengths.
  • Fluorimetry cuvettes - Aireka Scientific brings two decades of experience molding high-quality fluorescence cuvettes to new four-sided clear cuvettes for fluorimetry. Available in standard quartz material with ultra-low auto-fluorescence for the highest precision measurements.
  • Protective packaging - Our cuvettes are in dust-free, low scratching-expanded polystyrene packaging. This ensures that premium cuvettes arrive in the laboratory in the same pristine condition they were in at the factory, with optical quality windows and free of contaminants.
  • Volumes for most purposes - Our cuvettes are available in a variety of ranges from micro to macro semi-micro sizes to respond to the needs of most scientific applications. We can also customize sample volume to deliver consistent, accurate findings.
  • Perform consistently - The Cuvettes are constructed from high-quality fused quartz materials and are grouped by manufacturing mold cavities to ensure the lowest fluctuation in extinction coefficient.
  • Customization - Custom cuvettes and cells are encouraged and available upon request; mechanical drawings with specifications and tolerances are prerequisites. Awesome pricing and flexibility on small quantities.
