Why cuvettes with 100mm pathlength and dual stoppers?

Cuvettes with a 100mm path length and dual stoppers are highly sought-after in the realm of spectroscopic analysis and scientific research. These specialized cuvettes offer a myriad of advantages that elevate their utility and desirability in various laboratory applications. By incorporating a 100mm path length, these cuvettes provide an extended optical path, enabling the transmission of light through the sample over a longer distance. This elongated path offers several benefits, including enhanced sensitivity, improved precision, and increased accuracy in measuring absorbance or fluorescence. Researchers dealing with samples of low concentration or subtle optical changes can rely on the extended path length to detect even the slightest variations with utmost precision and confidence.

  • Increased Path Length: Cuvettes with a 100mm path length provide an extended path for light to pass through the sample. This longer path allows for more precise and accurate measurements, particularly in applications that require high sensitivity or when dealing with samples of low concentration. The increased path length enhances the detection of subtle changes in absorbance or fluorescence, enabling researchers to gather more detailed information from their experiments.
  • Improved Signal-to-Noise Ratio: The longer path length in these cuvettes helps to increase the signal-to-noise ratio in spectroscopic measurements. By minimizing the background noise and maximizing the signal intensity, cuvettes with a 100mm path length enhance the detection sensitivity and improve the quality of the obtained data. This is particularly beneficial in applications where the samples have low absorbance or fluorescence signals.
  • Enhanced Sample Mixing and Homogeneity: Cuvettes with dual stoppers allow efficient sample mixing and homogeneity. The dual-stopper design enables easy and controlled sample agitation by providing two points of access to the cuvette. This facilitates thorough mixing of the sample, ensuring uniform distribution of components or reagents throughout the solution. It is beneficial in applications that involve reactions, kinetics, or time-dependent studies.
  • Versatility in Experimental Design: The combination of a 100mm path length and dual stoppers offers versatility in experimental design. Researchers can manipulate the sample conditions or introduce additional components into the cuvette through the dual stoppers, expanding the possibilities for complex experimental setups. This versatility allows for customization and adaptation to specific research needs, offering flexibility in experimental design and execution.
  • Compatibility with Spectrophotometers: Cuvettes with a 100mm path length and dual stoppers are designed to be compatible with various spectrophotometers and analytical instruments. They are often manufactured with standardized dimensions to ensure seamless integration into existing laboratory setups. This compatibility facilitates accurate and consistent data acquisition, analysis, and comparison across different experiments or research facilities.
  • Sample Preservation and Protection: The dual stoppers provide an airtight seal, ensuring the preservation and protection of the sample during storage or transportation. The tight seal minimizes the risk of sample contamination, evaporation, or exposure to external factors that could compromise the integrity of the sample. This is especially important when working with sensitive or volatile samples that require strict control of environmental conditions.

Overall, cuvettes with a 100mm path length and dual stoppers offer increased path length for precise measurements, improved signal-to-noise ratio, enhanced sample mixing and homogeneity, versatility in experimental design, compatibility with spectrophotometers, and sample preservation and protection. Consider utilizing these cuvettes when working with low-concentration samples, requiring high sensitivity, or conducting experiments that demand rigorous control and manipulation of the sample environment.

UV Quartz Glass Cuvettes

Most of our quartz cuvettes are made from ES quartz material, absorption onset occurs below 190 nm and there are no absorption bands situated between 190 nm and 250 nm. Exceptionally high transmittance across the UVB, UVA, visible spectrum, and near IR. The transmission spectra for our UV quartz cells can be seen below. When working in the IR spectra, especially for wavelengths greater than 2000 nm, we recommend IR Quartz Glass Cuvettes instead, as they offer high transmission for these wavelengths.

IR Quartz Glass Cuvettes

Made from IR quartz material, absorption onset occurs below 260 nm with exceptionally high transmission across UVB, UVA, visible, near IR, and notably short IR. Transmission drops significantly in the mid-IR, and at 4200 nm there is complete absorption.
